Josh Leach is an Animator, Filmmaker, Composer, Performer and Facilitator.

While studying, his animations helped his team (80’s Girl band Fuzzbox) to win the Judges Award for the 2weeks2MakeIt West-Midlands Music Video Competition.

He went on to intern with Rugby record label Big Help Music. Where he learned about artist development regards Social Media. And under the name Diggery, developed an audio-visual collaboration with Coventry DJ Morocco Dave, where he live-animated his synesthetic (sound-to-colour) experience of Dave’s Music.

 

They performed at the Tin Angel and Pig and Apple stock Festival. After graduating, he took the collaboration to Night Lights Festival and UK Young Artists City Takeover in Nottingham 2019. A week-long, biennial arts festival with 200 international artists.

His graduate film ‘before i was 5’ won Best Experimental at the National Student Film Festival in London.

His dissertation specialised in ‘how to make educational videos more effective’ and his accompanying video was referenced by examining body OCR for Biology revision.

He is currently working as a freelance animator, designer and facilitator. And has run workshops with Birmingham City University, Coventry Refugee and Migrant Centre, hosted ‘Drink and animate’ nights, and facilitated writing group sessions for Theatre Absolute's City Voices project.

 

His animations have been used for performance, poetry-film and a variety of documentaries such as girls’ education in India, high profile E-sports players and Synesthesia for the Royal Institute.

He is currently one of the fifteen selected to take part in Coventry City of Culture's Leadership Programme.

 

And studying to become a psychological profiler using the Myers-Briggs type indicator (MBTI).
